What a night, I woke up at 3.00 AM with severe muscle cramps in my shin muscles in both legs. I probably over trained, not sure. But from 3.00 AM, I hardly slept. The cramps did not go away. And they followed each other constantly. At one point, it was so painful, that Dan woke up from my groaning. I felt terrible, but could not help it. Finally I fell asleep around 6.00 AM and slept till 8.00AM. The whole day my shin muscles were sensitive and now and then the cramps came back, not sure I like this and what to do about it.
After showering and breakfast, Dan worked more on my almost new computer: transferring all my files and pictures from the laptop. In the meantime, I made some phone calls with Coby and Niels. Coby is having her birthday tomorrow. Then Annet, called, and she and Steve will come over tomorrow for dinner. We had not planned this ahead, so we had to do the groceries for that dinner. We first went to Fry’s to get a bigger memory card for the computer and speakers. The sales guy of Fry’s, who helped us, was pretty rude. He was chewing gum with an open mouth, and his answers to Dan’s questions were in a tone as if he was bored. After that, Dan dropped me off at our local grocery store, and he went home to install the new stuff on the computer. Now I have a fast computer! See the technical story. That is so nice. We also installed a beta version Microsoft Office 2010, which is not quite the same as 2007, but we will learn how to work with it.
For dinner I made a simple meal. Bread Rolls with salami, cream cheese, sun dried tomatoes, black olives, chedded cheese in the oven. This tasted good!
After dinner Dan picked Ryan up from his friend’s house, and I checked emails. I go
t another update email from Joy’s website.
This one came from Nikki. She posted such beautiful pictures in a post called, “The real meaning of Words.” All of them were so beautiful. Two of them are my favorites: The little girl looks so excited, and the eyes of the cat say: I am safe now.
….
Oh, I almost forgot, I got a birthday card from my sister Joke. She had not put the priority sticker on the envelope, so it took almost a month (from the date of the stamps) to get here
But still, thank you sis!
I added Mission of Hope to the blogroll and Links in the left side bar. I mentioned this organisation before. The man behind the organisation is updating a daily journal (blog) about his work in Haiti. It is very impressive.
