As I wrote in my previous post, we went bike riding on Saturday to find the best route to my new work location. That did not turn out so well. The neighborhood we had to bike through is not the best part of our town. It was Saturday afternoon, very busy with cars, etc. We saw also some “homeboys” drinking beer and watching us. When we arrived at the school, we decided to find another route on Sunday. We went home, using the big roads. On Sunday we looked on Google maps for the best way to go, and it felt 100 times better than the day before. So Monday I went on my bike to school, using this route, and it was no problem at all.

Last weekend, I did not explain why I did not feel much for writing lately. I do not want to go too deep into why, because I want to keep that private. But I can tell now that the news I received from my family has been so good, that I feel, I can start writing again. I still do not feel I am back on my feet again, but that will happen. I want to thank everybody who wrote their good wishes for us.

I finished my job at the school, I worked 9 weeks. The goodbye party they gave me was incredible. The other teachers and assistants had made food and cake, and I got nice cards and flowers. I felt honored they did that for me. We told the children at the latest moment that I was going to leave. One of the kids found out earlier and started to sob. That was pretty hard. I did get some good recommendations, so that is always good for my new position.
