Because we will travel later this month to our family in the Netherlands, we are preparing the house already. Lots of cleaning, shopping and making sure all the cameras and alarms in and outside our house work well . So far, all the tests run out perfect. The neighbors on both sides will keep an eye on our house and take care of the mail.

Recently, the awareness of breast cancer has affected my life on several occasions. Someone, very, very dear to me, has been diagnosed with this disease. She has been operated upon and is now undergoing radiation treatment, and soon she will undergo chemotherapy and hormone treatment. She is doing incredibly well. She remains so strong, so positive and it is as always, so wonderful to be around her. I haven’t been able to write about this ordeal. It feels too private to discu

I had the day off because of Veterans day. That was very nice. After Dan left, I went back to bed to sleep a little bit more. Such a luxurious feeling
I had to do a lot today though, so it did not feel totally as a day off, but I could do it in a relaxed pace. Because of the Santa Anna winds, my laundry loads were dry in no time.

What a title. But it is true. I love the things I do here, I love my husband dearly, I have nice friends, a beautiful house, a wonderful job and almost always nice weather. That last one is for a biker, a big plus! To bike to work, in a t-shirt and jeans in November, is a blessing. It was pretty hot though last week. During recess at school, it even became uncomfortable.
