2010
Again, how times flies! 2010 has been such a great year for us. The fun we had with watching the Olympics. At the right time, I got two jobs! For which I am so very grateful. I met my Dutch friends for the first time and developed a warm friendship with them. A year with lots of hiking and biking and lots of wonderful things Dan and I did together. A year where I was tremendously proud of our Dutch National Soccer team but also ashamed of the finals they played. A year where we went visiting our family and friend in the Netherlands. But also a year with very sad and scary news. We will pray that 2011 will be especially good for her!

Today, Dan sent me this video. I laughed so hard. I want to share it with you and I hope you’ll enjoy it as well. Have fun! A little note to the video: Orange is a European provider for mobile phones.

Okay, we have bad weather too! It has been raining for 5 days in a row, and I am getting fed up with it! I know, nature here needs the water, but it is getting pretty annoying to stay inside all the time. The good thing is, you get things done more thoroughly. I do realize we do not have the right to complain. The weather in other parts of the country and Europe is much worse. I am so happy we have no plans to fly out this Christmas. It would be an airport holiday, I think

One and a half weeks, and then it is Christmas again! For me it is the 5th one in this country, the third one since I lived here permanently. I think there is more Christmas spirit in the Netherlands than here. Maybe it is because of the climate, but it does not feel at all it is becoming Christmas soon. We do our Christmas shopping, and they play Christmas songs everywhere, but still.

As the title of this post says, back to normal. It is good to be back in our town, doing our daily things and having contact with the family in the Netherlands and in Missouri. School was good this week. My pupil is doing fine, and the rest of the kids are fun to work with. My colleagues are nice to work with.
