Ellen In Amerika!

Some time ago, my blog buddy Joy from Us girls, our views… had a great question of the day: “What was your first celebrity crush?” Why did I like this question so much? Because it brought back so many great memories. My crush was Les Poppies! I bet lots of you do not even know who they were, but about 40! years ago, I was totally, head over heals in love with this French boys band. I had their LPs, the wall of my space in our girls-bedroom at my parents house was covered with pictures of this band. I loved them!

Last Monday we had the day off because of President’s day, and we took the opportunity to go after all the sales in the stores No, not all…. but…. We went to JC Penney’s to see if their curtains were really that good for that amazingly inexpensive price. Yes, they were! Wow! What a choice and what service! I was planning to make them myself, but the fabric we chose was much more expensive than the ones we saw at JC Penney’s. We went for sheers and valances. At home, we saw we had made the wrong choice, bummer!

Indeed a busy week again, as I predicted last Sunday. Monday was of course a nice day. It was Valentine’s Day, and I finally would get my surprise Valentine’s gift from Dan. Of course I thought of a lot of things, but no way I thought of this:

Last weekend Ryan, Dan and Austin went fishing, and they had a great time. They went to Lake Piru and rented a boat there. Dan took a lot of beautiful pictures.

My good Dutch friend Monique has always been able to make me laugh so hard. She and I have been colleagues at the ABN AMRO Bank in Amsterdam. We got along since the first day we met. We shared some very personal things and because of that and her great sense of humor, we stayed friends after she left the bank. This morning, Pacific time, I received an email from her that made my day. I kept laughing about it throughout the day. I hope this will make you laugh as much as I did. I have to warn you, it is a tad juicy
