Ellen In Amerika!

Almost another week went by since Niels went back to the Netherlands. It was hard to get back to the normal routine, but I am getting there Last Saturday I had to work the evening shift at the hospital. It was surprisingly very busy with lots of codes and calls. Before Niels came, I had scraped all the wallpaper from the kitchen and bay window area and had bought the paint.

Having my son here for 2 weeks has been a joy. He is so fun to be with and such a nice, matured, silly and friendly young man. I am immensely proud of him, and I know Dan is happy to have him as one of his stepsons.

I am so sorry I did not write more frequently. It is amazing how fast time goes by. A week ago Niels arrived at LAX. It was great to see him again. The first thing he said when we stepped outside: Wow, it’s warm here! We thought it was actually pretty chilly! It seems he has been here always. He blends in again perfectly. He and Ryan get along really well. It is fun to see Niels, Ryan and Dan talk and laugh about nerdy things. And on top of this, Niels cooks!

I love the gym here so much. You can train your body while watching Law and Order!! That is stimulating. At least, it works for me. Last Sunday we went to our local gym and did the cross trainer for 45 minutes. When I went on the training thing, the episode of Law and Order had just started, and it was a great one. Before I knew it, I had burned 500 calories.
