Ellen In Amerika!

Another week and weekend have gone by. Just like that. It is almost scary that the older you get, times go by so much faster. Work at school went fine. My pupil was in some trouble, but he also has shown he can do his work. So there is some hope I have to say when he is sweet and cooperative, he endears himself to me, and then we get along pretty well. But, when he decides not to listen and damages properties or runs away, I really have to do my very best to keep my patience. The other children in the class are a handful also, but they are manageable and very cute.

Almost another week went by since Niels went back to the Netherlands. It was hard to get back to the normal routine, but I am getting there Last Saturday I had to work the evening shift at the hospital. It was surprisingly very busy with lots of codes and calls. Before Niels came, I had scraped all the wallpaper from the kitchen and bay window area and had bought the paint.

After 3 weeks of Christmas vacation, I was more than ready to go back to work. And it was wonderful again. Within half an hour, the kids were already back into their “routine.” My little girl is having some problems with the schoolbus. We can’t figure out what triggers her, but she is trembling when she get off the bus, and according to her grandmother who puts her on the bus in the morning, she is scared to get on the bus. We have mentioned it to the schoolbus division of our city, and we’ll see what is going to happen. The busdriver is not the most open minded woman, but that should not imply that my student has to be scared. She should feel safe on the bus.

Yesterday I worked at the local hospital and it was busy! My goodness, so many codes to handle. It went well. I thought I had the split shift, but, my mistake, I did not check the new schedule, and I came in at 9.00 AM. My colleague asked what was wrong with me, to come in 1 1/2 hour too early. Then I found out I had to work from 10.30 AM till 7.00 PM.

Yesterday, my nephew Remco had his birthday, and today my friend Sonja is the birthday girl. Congrats to you both!!

Again it has been a pretty busy week. 1 day off in 10 days is not exactly what I wished for This new life of mine is so different, but still I enjoy it. Even when it is getting a bit too much. And, dear, dear Joy, I am okay. I am very touched by your comment, you asked if I were okay!
